Hi!
I used to read six or seven reviews before buying anything, because half of what’s out there is one of two things: an ad dressed up as an opinion, or a copy-paste list built for search engines instead of people. I wanted to be neither.
So I started bioshawna because I wanted:
- A place for honest opinions on products, tools, and everyday finds — the kind of honesty I look for before trying something myself.
- Somewhere that didn’t feel like it was performing for an algorithm. If something’s just okay, I’ll say it’s just okay.
Off the clock, you’ll find me testing new beauty finds, exploring tech and AI tools, gaming, blogging, listening to the same three songs on repeat until they stop working, spending time with family, or creating digital content.
I’ve also got a genuine soft spot for design and visual media — the kind of layouts, color palettes, and typography choices most people scroll past without registering, but I notice every time. It’s a big part of why I care so much about how this site actually looks, not just what it says. Bad UX bothers me almost as much as a bad product review does.
Gaming-wise, I’ll pick a slow, atmospheric RPG over almost anything else. Fallout: New Vegas specifically, and the Fallout series in general, are comfort-game territory for me — I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve replayed New Vegas start to finish. There’s something about a wasteland with a genuinely good story and a soundtrack full of old radio hits that I keep coming back to, even years later.

Some of those were gifted for review, some I paid for myself. I say which is which in every post, not just on a disclosure page nobody reads.

I use these tools daily to actually get work done, so the reviews focus on whether something saves you real time and holds up under regular use — not just whether it’s technically impressive on paper.

Practical tips for bloggers, UGC creators, and digital creators learning how to organize, publish, review, and monetize their work. Most of what’s here is something I learned the hard way — by publishing it wrong the first time and fixing it after.
